1. Overview
This article provides an overview of new features in the Fortanix Filesystem Encryption (FSE)-Windows 3.0.254 release.
2. New Features
Added support for Encrypted Master Key rotation, enabling controlled key lifecycle management through Fortanix Data Security Manager (DSM) (JIRA: FSE-739).
For more information, refer to Filesystem Encryption for Windows as a Service Using Fortanix Data Security Manager - Client Configuration.
The Filesystem Encryption Lua plugin is now integrated into Fortanix DSM Plugin Library and adds support for rotating Encrypted Master Keys (JIRA: FSE-740).
For more information, refer to Filesystem Encryption for Windows as a Service Using Fortanix Data Security Manager - Client Configuration.
3. Known Issues
The Show Breakglass Output toggle remains visible on the Edit Settings page even though the functionality has been removed from the Fortanix FSE Windows Agent (JIRA: FSE-752).
The Fortanix FSE agent does not restrict access to files such as databases and logs by default. This means that unauthorized users might access them (JIRA: FSE-185).
Workaround: Set file permissions to ensure only the Fortanix FSE Agent’s service account and authorized administrators can access these files.
