1. Overview
This article provides an overview of new features and resolved issues in the Fortanix Filesystem Encryption (FSE)-Windows 2.7.203 release.
2. New Features
Added support for secure recovery of the Breakglass Master Key in the Fortanix FSE Windows Agent, with audit logging to ensure secure and transparent usage (JIRA: FSE-500).
For more information, refer to Filesystem Encryption for Windows as a Service Using Fortanix Data Security Manager - Client Configuration.Added the Learn mode toggle in the FILE DECRYPTION POLICY tab of Fortanix Data Security Manager for Fortanix FSE Windows. This feature allows temporary access to guarded paths while capturing detailed audit logs to help administrators refine security policies (JIRA: FSE-488).

3. Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where saving a Printer file to a mounted directory using Select File → Print → Printer → Print to File failed because the
CreateFilecall in thecrypt_createFilemethod returned an invalid handle (JIRA: ES-547).Fixed an issue in Fortanix FSE for Windows, where creating a SQL Server database on an FSE mount point failed (JIRA: ES-548).
4. Known Issues
The Fortanix FSE agent does not restrict access to files such as databases and logs by default. This means that unauthorized users might access them (JIRA: FSE-185).
Workaround: Set file permissions to ensure only the Fortanix FSE Agent’s service account and authorized administrators can access these files.
