This article provides an overview of the new features and on-premises scanner updates in the Fortanix Key Insight 25.04 release.
1.0 New Features
Fortanix Key Insight now supports Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Central, a centralized feature designed to help organizations assess and improve their readiness for the post-quantum era (JIRA: KI-2148).
You can navigate to PQC Central from the left navigation panel in Fortanix Key Insight to view quantum readiness insights across all connections or individual ones, including Cloud, On-Premises, and External Key Sources.
For each connection or across all connections, you can explore the PQC dashboard, which provides detailed breakdowns of Post-Quantum Readiness and PQC Vulnerabilities by Keys and Services/Resources. Drill-down views offer deeper analysis to support informed remediation and planning.
For more details, refer to the Fortanix Key Insight User Interface Components - PQC Central.
Added support for key correlation between Fortanix Key Insight and Fortanix Data Security Manager (DSM) On-Premises environments (JIRA: KI-1893).
Fortanix Key Insight now supports the separate onboarding of external key sources, allowing Fortanix DSM SaaS and Fortanix DSM On-Premises to be integrated independently for more flexible management and configuration.
For more details, refer to the Fortanix Key Insight - Getting Started With External Key Source Connection.
You can view the correlated keys between Fortanix Key Insight and Fortanix DSM (On-Premises) using the new optional "External Key Source" configuration when onboarding a new On-Premises or Cloud connection.
For more details, refer to the following:
The Fortanix Key Insight external key source (Fortanix DSM On-Premises) Overview and Keys pages will now display key correlation data.
For more details, refer to the Fortanix Key Insight User Interface Components - External Key Source.
You can view the details of an external key source connection’s correlated keys directly in the On-Premises connection Keys details page.
For more details, refer to the Fortanix Key Insight User Interface Components - On-Premises.
You can view the details of an external key source connection’s correlated keys directly in the Azure and AWS connections’ Keys and Services details pages.
For more details, refer to the following:
Added the Certificates feature for AWS connections to provide a unified view that maps AWS Certificate Manager (ACM) certificates to their corresponding private keys and identifies the AWS services where these certificates are actively in use (JIRA: KI-2240).
For AWS cloud connections, the Certificates section is accessible from the left navigation panel after onboarding.
Within the Assessment page, you can view the certificate risk score and associated violations, if any.
You can view the certificate details, including the certificate properties, violations, and service mapping information.
You can export the certificate data in Comma Separated Values (CSV) format for external analysis or reporting.
For more details, refer to the Fortanix Key Insight User Interface Components – AWS.
Added support for viewing key details for external key source connection (Fortanix DSM SaaS and On-Premises) (JIRA: KI-2422).
You can now view the key information, including key properties, supported cryptographic operations, HSM/Cloud KMS configuration details, and automatic key rotation policies.
For more details, refer to the Fortanix Key Insight User Interface Components - External Key Source.
