Getting Started with Fortanix Armor SaaS

1.0 Introduction

This article helps you get started with the Fortanix Armor platform.

If you are a new user, you can start a free trial of Fortanix Key Insight or Fortanix Confidential Computing Manager (CCM) from the Fortanix website. After you submit the trial registration form for the selected solution, you are redirected to the Fortanix Armor sign-up page to create your Armor user account.

This article describes how to:

• Start a free trial of Key Insight or CCM.

• Complete the Fortanix Armor sign-up process.

• Verify your email address.

NOTE

Fortanix Key Insight and Fortanix CCM are solutions available through the Fortanix Armor platform. The trial registration identifies the solution you want to try; the subsequent account registration is completed through Fortanix Armor.

2.0 Start a Free Trial

You can start a free trial of Fortanix Key Insight or Fortanix Confidential Computing Manager from the Fortanix website.

Perform the following steps:

1. Go to the Fortanix website.

2. Click Try Us.

3. Click Start Free 30-day Trial for the solution you want to try:

   • Key Insight

   • Confidential Computing Manager

   

4. Complete the registration form displayed for the selected solution.

   The registration forms are solution-specific, but the information requested is similar for both solutions

   • For Key Insight, refer to Section 2.1: Register for a Key Insight Trial.

   • For CCM, refer to Section 2.2: Register for Confidential Computing Manager Trial.

2.1 Register for a Key Insight Trial

Perform the following steps to register for Key Insight trial:

1. When you select Key Insight, the Key Insight – Sign Up for 30-Days Free Trial form is displayed.

   Enter the following information:

   1. First name: Enter your first name.

   2. Last name: Enter your last name.

   3. Email: Enter your work email address.

   4. Job title: Enter your job title.

   5. Phone number: Enter your contact phone number and select the appropriate country code.

   6. Country: Select your country.

   7. I agree to receive other communications from Fortanix (Optional): Select this check box if you want to receive additional communications from Fortanix.

      

2. Review the information you entered.

3. Click Submit.

• After you submit the Key Insight trial registration form, you are redirected to the Fortanix Armor Sign Up page to complete your Armor user registration.

• Fortanix Armor offers a 30-day trial. After your free trial expires, contact Fortanix Support for assistance with next steps.

2.2 Register for Confidential Computing Manager Trial

Perform the following steps to register for Key Insight trial:

1. When you select Confidential Computing Manager, the Confidential AI – Confidential Computing Manager – Sign Up for 30-Days Free Trial form is displayed.

   Enter the following information:

   1. First name: Enter your first name.

   2. Last name: Enter your last name.

   3. Email: Enter your work email address.

   4. Job title: Enter your job title.

   5. Phone number: Enter your contact phone number and select the appropriate country code.

   6. Country: Select your country.

   7. I agree to receive other communications from Fortanix (Optional): Select this check box if you want to receive additional communications from Fortanix.

   

2. Review the information you entered.

3. Click Submit.

• After you submit the CCM trial registration form, you are redirected to the Fortanix Armor Sign Up page to complete your Armor user registration.

• Fortanix Armor offers a 30-day trial. After your free trial expires, contact Fortanix Support for assistance with next steps

3.0 Complete the Fortanix Armor Sign Up

After you submit the Key Insight or CCM trial registration form, you are redirected to the Fortanix Armor Sign Up page.

The information you provided in the trial registration form is used to populate the corresponding fields on the Armor sign-up page.

Perform the following steps:

1. Verify that the Email, First name, and Last name fields contain the correct information.

2. In Password, enter a password for your Fortanix Armor user account.

3. In Confirm password, enter the password again.

   For more information on password requirements for Fortanix Armor SaaS user accounts, refer to Section 3.1: Fortanix Armor SaaS Password Policy.

4. Select I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

5. Select I'm not a robot and complete the reCAPTCHA verification.

6. Click SIGN UP.

3.1 Fortanix Armor SaaS Password Policy

Below are the password-related settings and behaviors currently applicable to all Fortanix Armor SaaS user accounts:

• Minimum Length: Passwords must contain at least 12 characters.

• Maximum Sequence: No restrictions for sequential characters.

• Maximum Repetition: No restrictions for repeating characters.

• Password Complexity: No complexity requirements are enforced. Users may choose any combination of characters if the minimum length is met.

• Password Expiration: Passwords do not expire. Users are not required to change their passwords periodically.

• Password Change Frequency/Password rotation: No mandatory frequency or rotation period enforced for password updates. Users may change their passwords at any time, but are not forced to do so.

• Incorrect Password Attempts: Accounts allow up to 10 incorrect password attempts before lockout. After exceeding this limit, the account is temporarily locked for 30 minutes (1800 seconds). To unlock your account and log in again, enter the correct password and complete reCAPTCHA verification.

• Password Reuse: Password reuse is restricted. Users cannot reuse their previous 4 passwords. If users attempt to use a previously used password, the following error message is displayed: “Error: The new password has been used previously. Please choose a different password.”

• Temporary Passwords: Temporary passwords are not used or issued for the login or onboarding process.

• Password History: The system maintains a history of the last 4 passwords, preventing reuse during password updates.

4.0 Verify the Email Address

After you click SIGN UP, Fortanix sends a verification email to the email address you provided during registration.

Perform the following steps:

1. Check your registered email inbox for the Fortanix Armor verification email.

2. Open the email and click CONFIRM EMAIL.

   Alternatively, copy the verification URL from the email and paste it into your browser.

3. After your email address is successfully verified, Fortanix Armor displays a confirmation message.

4. Click Proceed to accounts to continue to Armor account setup.

   

   NOTE

   If you do not receive the verification email, click RESEND VERIFICATION EMAIL on the confirmation page.
