# What is tokenization transaction per second in DSM?

The Tokenization transaction in Fortanix-Data-Security-Manager (DSM) per second is the number of security object tokenization operations completed in one second in DSM or Webservice.**For more information about the latest performance statistics for the tokenization transactions per second, refer to the Performance Statistics table in the latest [DSM on-prem release notes](https://fortanix.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/29002210817684--4-31-August-06-2024) and [Webservice release notes](https://fortanix.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/12153054430356--Release-Notes) and see the value for "AES 256: Encryption/Decryption Format-Preserving Encryption (FPE)" mode in the tables.

Fortanix Data Security Manager (DSM) is the world’s first cloud service secured with Intel® SGX. With Fortanix DSM, you can securely generate, store, and use cryptographic keys and certificates, as well as other secrets such as passwords, API keys, tokens, or any blob of data. Your business-critical applications and containers can integrate with Fortanix DSM using legacy cryptographic interfaces (PKCS#11, CNG, and JCE) or using the native Fortanix DSM RESTful interface.
