Fortanix Armor uses Azure Blob Storage for Cassandra database backups. You must provision an Azure Storage Account with the following minimum supported configuration:
CONFIGURATION | MINIMUM SUPPORTED VALUE |
|---|---|
Storage account kind | StorageV2 |
Account tier | Standard |
Replication type | LRS (Locally Redundant Storage) |
NOTE
Premium performance tier is also supported.
Configure Azure Blob Storage Credentials
Before configuring Cassandra database backups, ensure that the Azure Storage Account credentials are configured as a Kubernetes Secret in the Fortanix Armor namespace.
Example command:
kubectl apply -n <armor-namespace> -f - <<EOF
apiVersion: v1
kind: Secret
metadata:
name: <backup-secret-name>
stringData:
credentials: '{"key":"<key_value>","storage_account":"<storage-account-name>"}'
EOFWhere,
<resource-group>: The resource group containing the Azure Storage Account.<storage-account-name>: The name of the Azure Storage Account used for Cassandra backups.<armor-namespace>: The Kubernetes namespace where Fortanix Armor is deployed.<backup-secret-name>: The name of the Kubernetes Secret containing the Azure Storage Account credentials.<key_value>: The value of the storage account key returned by the Azure CLI command.NOTE
Specify the same Secret name in the
database.backup.secretfield of theArmorPlatformresource.
