# How does the attestation process guarantee hardware integrity?

Node Attestation: (Hardware Integrity)

- Fortanix's Node Agent, which sits on each enrolled compute node, starts the node attestation process.
- The node agent sends evidence of attestation to Fortanix CCM.
- Once attestation passes, then Fortanix CCM issues a node agent certificate.
