# Fortanix DSM - Quickstart

This article provides instructions for getting started with Fortanix-Data-Security-Manager (DSM).

Choose a deployment option:

## Secure your Data on the Cloud and On-premises

#### Deploy and Configure the Fortanix DSM Cluster

1. Ensure that the Fortanix DSM [pre-installation requirements](/v1/docs/pre-installation) are met.
2. For On-premises Deployment-
  1. Get the FX2200 appliance up and running by following the steps in our [Hardware Guide](/v1/docs/fortanix-data-security-manager-fx2200-hardware-guide).
  2. Install and configure Fortanix DSM using our [Installation Guide](/v1/docs/fortanix-data-security-manager-installation-guide-on-prem).
3. For Cloud Deployment (Public/Private)-
  1. Install Fortanix DSM cluster on [AWS](/v1/docs/fortanix-data-security-manager-installation-on-aws), from [Azure Marketplace](/v1/docs/fortanix-data-security-manager-installation-from-azure-marketplace), or on [VMWare](/v1/docs/fortanix-data-security-manager-installation-on-vmware).
4. Download the latest Fortanix DSM software from the Fortanix DSM [Downloads](https://fortanix.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/10644636415380-DSM-Installation-Package-Downloads-on-prem) section.

#### Sign Up and Create an Account with your Fortanix DSM Instance

Fortanix Data Security Manager (DSM) is the world’s first cloud service secured with Intel® SGX. With Fortanix DSM, you can securely generate, store, and use cryptographic keys and certificates, as well as other secrets such as passwords, API keys, tokens, or any blob of data. Your business-critical applications and containers can integrate with Fortanix DSM using legacy cryptographic interfaces (PKCS#11, CNG, and JCE) or using the native Fortanix DSM RESTful interface.
