*For more information on Fortanix Armor IAM, refer to* [*Fortanix Armor Identity and Access Management (IAM)*](/v1/docs/fortanix-armor-identity-and-access-management-iam)*.*

> [!NOTE]
> NOTE
>
> **IAM is a global solution**. All IAM objects (users, accounts, groups, sessions, and so on) are globally accessible and can reference resources from any Fortanix Armor region.

### 2.2 Key Insight

Fortanix Key Insight™ provides centralized visibility into encryption keys and cryptographic assets across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. It discovers and maps keys to data services across cloud-native services, on-premises platforms, vendor applications, and external key source environments. It provides insights into key usage, encryption coverage, and cryptographic risk across the enterprise.

Perform the following operations on the **Key InsightTM** solution:

1. **Region**: Select the required Fortanix Key Insight region from the drop down. The supported regions are **European Union (EU)** and **North America (NA)**.

> [!NOTE]
> NOTE
>
> - The **Region** field is available only in the Fortanix Key Insight Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment. It is not displayed in the on-premises user interface.
> - **European Union** is selected by default.
> - Data for each Fortanix Key Insight region is stored in data centres within that geographic region. Data from one region is isolated from data in other regions.
> - Although data is stored regionally, all regions share the same **global IAM instance**.
2. **Connections**: View the number of existing connections configured in the selected region (if any).

**Figure 5: Select the region**
3. Click **GO TO KEY INSIGHT** to:

> [!NOTE]
> NOTE
>
> - The Fortanix Key Insight UI displays data **based on the currently selected region**. Users **can switch** between supported regions using the region **drop-down menu in the top navigation bar**. When a different region is selected, the UI displays the data available in that region.
> - An **Account Administrator** must configure the first Fortanix Key Insight connection in a selected region. **Account Members** can view and select regions but cannot configure connections until the initial setup is completed by an **Account Administrator**.
  - Create a new cloud, on-premises, external key source, or vendor application connection if no connection exists yet for the selected region.

*For more information about configuring a connection, refer to the following:*
    - [*Getting Started with Cloud Connection*](/v1/docs/fortanix-key-insight-getting-started-with-cloud-connection)
    - [*Getting Started with On-Premises Connection*](/v1/docs/fortanix-key-insight-getting-started-with-on-premises-connection)
    - [*Getting Started with External Key Source Connection*](/v1/docs/fortanix-key-insight-getting-started-with-external-key-source-connection)
    - [*Getting Started with Vendor Application Connection*](/v1/docs/fortanix-key-insight-getting-started-with-vendor-application-connection)
  - Access the Fortanix Key Insight **Overview** page if a connection is already configured. *For more information on Fortanix Key Insight UI and features, refer to* [*Fortanix Key Insight*](/v1/docs/fortanix-key-insight)*.*

Fortanix Armor is a comprehensive cybersecurity solution that protects data and applications across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. It integrates Fortanix solutions into a single unified product, securing data throughout its lifecycle. Built on the **Confidential Computing** **Platform**, it ensures real-time encryption of data at rest, in transit, and during processing. Additionally, it includes platform services such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), Key Management Service (KMS), and Audit and Monitoring to simplify security management.

Fortanix Key Insight identifies encryption keys and data services across on-premises and hybrid multicloud environments, providing a unified dashboard for tracking key mappings and cryptographic security. It offers security and compliance teams data-driven insights to assess risks, align with best practices, and meet industry regulations. Iy also supports continuous risk mitigation and crypto-agility, adapting to evolving security needs, including preparation for the post-quantum era.

Fortanix Data Security Manager (DSM) is the world’s first cloud service secured with Intel® SGX. With Fortanix DSM, you can securely generate, store, and use cryptographic keys and certificates, as well as other secrets such as passwords, API keys, tokens, or any blob of data. Your business-critical applications and containers can integrate with Fortanix DSM using legacy cryptographic interfaces (PKCS#11, CNG, and JCE) or using the native Fortanix DSM RESTful interface.
