# Filesystem Encryption for Nutanix Using Fortanix DSM

Fortanix-Data-Security-Manager (DSM) helps with filesystem encryption for virtual machines (VMs) in the Nutanix Acropolis Operating System (AOS). With the Fortanix Filesystem Encryption (FSE) agent, you can now set granular access control over the encrypted data, allowing only necessary users, groups, or processes the ability to read data in plain text. With a policy engine that can be controlled from a single place in the Fortanix DSM user interface (UI) for multiple VMs, this integration helps with seamless encryption and management of the entire VM landscape in an AOS environment.
