Can Active Directory be used to perform cryptographic operations with DSM?

Prev Next

Fortanix Data Security Manager (DSM) supports integration with Active Directory (using LDAP) for user authentication. However, Active Directory cannot be used to perform cryptographic operations.

  • Active Directory is used only for authentication and access control.

  • Cryptographic operations (such as encryption, decryption, signing, and key management) are performed using DSM APIs, SDKs, or integrated applications.

For more information on configuring Active Directory or LDAP authentication, refer to the Fortanix DSM User Guide – Single Sign-On (LDAP).
